NBA Region IX represents a dynamic network of Black legal professionals across Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Guam, supporting affiliated bar associations and advancing initiatives that promote justice, equity, and excellence in the legal profession.
NBA Region IX represents Black legal professionals across the western region, advocating, building, and shaping the future of the profession.
Region IX is the western region of the National Bar Association, spanning ten states and Guam. Eleven affiliated bar associations make up the network, the bulk of programming, judicial advocacy, and member work runs through California.
Region IX's focus runs across three through-lines: developing the next generation of Black lawyers, advancing diversity on the bench, and showing up in the community where the legal work meets the moment.
